On February 1, 1960 4 black freshman students from Greensboro, NC sat in a whites only section in a diner and they refused to get up when asked. They had no idea how the day would pan out, but they knew they were tired of it all. Little did they do, they sparked what would be a milestone in civil rights movement. After the 5th day of sit ins 1000 black men and women showed up. It is believed that they started sit ins and it led to the Raleigh Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.
